Emma & James
about Emma
Emma is a very friendly and active girl whose hobbies include socialising with her friends and walking there pet labrador - Alfie. After completing her university diploma, she settled in Lincoln with James, working at the local hospital as a nurse.
about James
James's east end roots meant that when he met Emma, he left everything behind for her. He was able to successfully pin down a job working at the local international airport. His main interests are playing on the playstation, hanging around with his brothers and walking our dog, Alfie.
how they met
Both of us use to chat alot online on the yahoo chat pages. We got chatting one day. Emma loved his sarcastic humour. We would often argue online. Both of us liked to have the last word. After a year of chatting on the internet, we swapped phone numbers and arranged to meet. As the saying goes 'the rest is history'.
the proposal
After 6 years of being together Emma thought it was about time that we did get engaged. Started to drop hints to James. His older brother went travelling for a year, so we arranged to meet up where ever he was for his birthday, turned out to be the beautiful Thailand. We had discussed before hand that we would get engaged whilst in Thailand, but never told our families. It was bizarre the day we travelled out there, as both parents came to say goodbye at the airport and I think they had there suspicision about us getting engaged because they mentioned it and said that they would be very excited for us. When we got to Thailand we told Luke and Barry first and they were thrilled, they came with us when we went shopping for the ring. They did some bartering for us. Helped us choose the right one. The ring was delivered to our hotel on the 7th November 2006. It was killing Emma to have it, but James took his time and waited for the right moment. On the morning of the 8th November, we woke up to the most fantastic sunrise. James pulled Emma onto there hotel balconary to see. As we watched the sun rise and the day break, he bent down on one knee and proposed. Emma giggled and cried before finally saying - YES!!! On that evening we had a mock wedding ceremony.
